1965 Chevrolet Corvette Big Block Restomod | Tuxedo Black over White

1965 Chevrolet Corvette Big Block Restomod | Tuxedo Black over White

This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette is one of 1,191 examples finished in Tuxedo Black for the model year, and it retains its original color combination as confirmed by its trim tag, with Tuxedo Black paint over a rarely seen factory white interior. A genuine big block car, it has been in the care of its most recent owner for the last seven years and has since been updated with a new GM Performance Parts LS3 crate engine rated at 525 horsepower, a Tremec TKO600 five speed manual transmission, Ridetech coilover suspension, Wilwood brakes, and Vintage Air climate control.

The Tuxedo Black finish is accented by bright trim and a Stayfast canvas soft top, the same material specified by BMW and Mercedes. The vented, Stingray style hood was exclusive to the 1965 and 1966 big block cars. Detroit Speed fast opening motors operate the hidden headlights. The car rides on Billet Specialties wheels measuring 18 inches up front and 20 inches out back, wrapped in Diamond Back Redline tires.

Inside, the white seats and door panels are original to the car's factory specification. A Billet Specialties steering wheel fronts a Dakota Digital gauge package with a Bluetooth adjustable two stage fan controller. Vintage Air provides air conditioning and heat.

Power comes from a new GMPP LS3 crate engine paired with its matching GMPP engine controller for the 525 horsepower package. Supporting equipment includes a Holley serpentine accessory drive and a DeWitts Max Cool radiator with dual programmable fans and shroud. Power is sent through a McLeod twin disc hydraulic clutch and a Tremec TKO600 overdrive transmission to a 4.56 rear differential. As a big block car, it was built with the heavier duty half shafts and 1350 universal joints.

The chassis has been upgraded with Ridetech independent coilover suspension front and rear, adjustable for both ride height and damping. Stopping power comes from Wilwood 14 inch rotors with six piston front and four piston rear calipers, fed by a Wilwood lightweight master cylinder.

The car is accompanied by a complete file of receipts and service records.
